Twitter announced on Monday that accounts with 600 or more followers can now host Spaces, its Clubhouse alternative.
At the moment, this product is only available on iOS and Android devices. However, the company is developing a version that will work on the web. Twitter Spaces is not a new product. It was initially launched last year; however, only a few people could use it. Now, it is potentially open to everybody.
The company settled on accounts with 600+ followers because it believes their existing audiences will help them create good experiences. The product comes with several features, with ticketing being the most prominent. This feature will allow hosts to earn for their efforts. Another feature is live captioning.
It is also working on other features like co-hosting and scheduled Spaces to enhance users’ experience.
