Spotify Rolls Out New Feature Blend to Create Playlist for Besties

Spotify has launched Blend, a cool new feature that allows two users to merge their musical tastes.

While the company initially launched this feature back in June, it was running in beta till now. This final version however includes new cover art for distinguishing different Blend playlists and taste match scores for comparing users’ musical preferences, among others.

Spotify developed Blend to help people connect over music. The company will update and adapt to it daily for users to get the best social listening experience.

In other news regarding Spotify, the streaming product and Philips Hue have entered into a partnership to turn coloured light bulbs into a music visualiser. To work, the lighting effects will rely on data about music genre, tempo, volume, and mood, among others. This feature will begin rolling out to Hue users on September 1 and, within a week, all Hue users will have it.
