Facebook Messenger and Instagram Get New Features, Themes, Stickers

Facebook is currently updating two of its messaging apps: Messenger and Instagram DMs with new features, themes, and stickers.

For Instagram DMs, there is a receipt feature that enables users to know if their message’s recipient read it. Also, users now have the ability to reply photo and video messages with images and video clips of their own.

For Messenger, hiding old chats is now easier than ever before with a new “Swipe to archive” feature. It is also more convenient to access these archived conversations. To do so, tap on your profile photo and select Archived Chats.

Furthermore, Messenger users get improved audio functionality. Where they had to hold the mic icon to record an audio message, now, they only need to tap it. Finally, the chat app is getting new camera stickers for Asian and Pacific Islanders in celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.

For both chat apps, there are new, aesthetically appealing themes that users can use to personalize their experiences.

Facebook is making these updates to ensure its users continue to get the best experiences with its products. In return, they will retain their positions as two of the best communication products globally.
