On Thursday, Clubhouse revealed a new feature, Wave, for inviting friends to private rooms when you see they’re online.
The audio chat platform announced this development at a town hall on Thursday; it is immediately available for both Android and iOS users.
To use the feature, go to Hallway. There, tap on the waving hand emoji beside the names of people you want to invite. You can invite as many people as you want as long as they follow you. If they accept your invitation, they will be added to a private room.
By the way, if you don’t get a quick response, you can continue using the app and join other rooms. When someone eventually responds to your request, you’ll get a notification. However, the platform will provide you with an option to cancel the private room if you’re currently too occupied to continue with it.
This development comes as Clubhouse continues to face stiff competition from established media platforms like Facebook, Spotify, Discord, and Twitter.
