Vise Comparison: New iPad Vs iPad 2 and iPad

The new iPad is already in the hands of many people across the globe and if Tim Cook‘s affirmation on Apple‘s “record opening weekend” is anything to go by, then, it has probably made sales history (again). This feature is for those who are still thinking about their buying options and who may or may not be considering a $499 purchase of the new iPad.

Below is an over simplified version of a comparison among the iPad devices.

Processor, Memory, Display

The newer model’s quad core processoris perfect for gamers, audio and movie editors and those that will do a lot of work requiring high-end graphics. For those who wish to watch youtube videos, email, FaceTime and browse the web, there is no need to update your device from any version. Again, if you plan on doing a lot of reading, get tired eyes quickly and already looking to spend on the Nook or Amazon Kindle, you might consider spending extra and getting the new iPad instead.

Do a lot of instagram? Shoot HD videos? Want to capture perfect looking multiple faces? If your answer is yes to at least two of the above then you should get the new iPad. Why? It will be hard to find a better capture device for your kid’s next birthday party and capture all the smiles.

The new iPad model features a significant upgrade in wireless connectivity options; both bluetooth and cellular. If you travel a lot in North America or spend a significant amount of your time waiting then the upgrade is worth it. However as of right now, 4G is supported only in United States and Canada.

Table 1 (above) : Comparison of iPad models

If you have been waiting to buy an iPad or a tablet all these years then buy this without hesitation. It is good enough to last you for 2 years without you constantly wishing to upgrade it. It is that good.

If you have the original iPad and you are looking to upgrade then this is a good purchase.

If you are an iPad 2 user then you should seriously consider not purchasing this model unless you meet the criteria given above.
