I don’t know about you guys, but I’m in my car a lot. In fact, I practically live in it. If you’re like me, you probably want your car to have all of the latest bells and whistles to make your driving experience more enjoyable. Plenty of newer car models already come with great tech pre-installed, but what if you don’t have a new car? Well, don’t fret because these 10 futuristic car gadgets will definitely bring you and your car up to modern times.
We’ve all seen them in sci-fi movies for years, but very few of us ever dreamed of having a real virtual HUD in our vehicles. But, now more and more cars are coming out with HUDs built directly into them. That still leaves all of us with older cars out of the trend, though. Not anymore. For less than $50 you can get your very own car HUD. This Demo-store model shows your speed, your RPM, and even how much fuel is in your tank. Cool eh?
Of course, if we are going to have all kinds of new gizmos in our cars then we will also need a charger to keep them all going, right? The LEVO Multi-use Charger can charge phones up to 4 times and tablets up to 2 times. It also has built in flashlight modes designed for any situation. Not enough for you? The LEVO also acts as jumper cables and can help you out if your car battery ever dies. Now that really is a multi-use charger, right? You’ll have to charge it every now and then though but the value of this charger is simply great!
Like I said before, I live in my car. If you’re like me your in your car a lot, too. That probably means you eat in your car frequently. Well, instead of shoving another fast food burger down you gullet, why not cook your own food with the RoadPro Portable Stove?. This little guy plugs into your cigarette lighter socket and can cook most pre-cooked foods up to 300°. Because nothing says a long day on the road like fresh baked beans.
So even though I’m in my car a lot, I actually know very little (if anything) about it. That’s where this device would come in handy. The OBDLink LX is compatible with Android devices and Windows computers, and it is designed to help you diagnose problems with your vehicle. By plugging this bad boy into your car, you can quickly scan it for issues and get instant results. It won’t fix the problems, but at least you’ll know what they are. Plus it works on most cars manufactured after 1996, so you are more than likely covered by this handy little device.
Backing up can be a tricky thing, especially when you are driving a car with a ton of blind spots. That’s where backup dashboard cameras come in handy, and the Conbrov T9 is the perfect blend of quality and price. Complete with 1080p resolution and night vision, the T9 can assist you in every backing up situation. Plus its wide 140° viewing angle lets you see anything that would otherwise go unseen. So, reverse in peace from now on!

Let’s be honest, smelly cars are just uncomfortable, especially with cigarette smoke. Well, now you don’t have to live with the shame of your smelly car with the Pure-O Ionic Air Freshener. This little device plugs into your cigarette lighter and can quite literally suck bad odours out of the air. From lingering cigarette smells to pet odour, the Pure-O will leave your car smelling fresh and clean. Of course, you could simply quit smoking altogether and save $49.99 but just in case you don’t want to live with healthy lungs then get this Pure-O so others don’t have to suffer because of you.
This one is more for people looking to reduce their distractions. If you (or your teen) have a bad habit of texting while driving, the ORIGOSafe® is the ideal product for you. Basically, you put your fun in the safe, and if you remove your phone while the car is in motion it will trigger an alarm and immediately send the message to an administrator (probably a parent or loved one). The driver also will not be able to start the car again until the administrator gives permission. Don’t worry, though. ORIGOSafe® recognizes when the car is parked, so you can safely pull out your smartphone from the safe.
Sometimes you just have to let people know how you feel when your driving. But sometimes its dark and they can’t see you, or you don’t want to take the risk and turn around to yell at someone behind you. That’s where the DriveMocion LED Car Sign comes in handy. This affordable little guy will show people how you’re feeling about their driving with bright LED faces. From happy, angry, thank you, aggressive comments, and particular hand gesture called “the bird,” the DriveMocion can help you effectively communicate with drivers anywhere on the road at any time without having to open your mouth.
It’s always best to prepare for the worst, and there is nothing worse than your car being stolen. The cool thing about this GPS Tracker is its SMS control system. With a simple text message, you can set off an alarm in your car, cut off fuel to the engine, or even shut off the car entirely. Combine that with standard security measures to stop break-ins, and you have an all-around stellar security system for a low price. This is a must-have car gadget no matter where you are!
This one is on my personal wish list because I use my phone a lot while I drive. However, I don’t like the dangers that come with using your phone while driving. With the Pioneer AVH-4000, users would, for one, have an incredibly stylish and premier touchscreen radio, but they would also get one of the first aftermarket radios compatible with Apple Carplay and Android Auto. For those of you who don’t know, these are two new services from Apple and Google that put the basic functions of your smartphone (such as Music, Messages, and Phone) directly onto your touchscreen radio. The AVH-4000 is great because it is produced by Pioneer, a long time leader in the car stereo industry, and it is one of the only Carplay compatible radios that costs less than $1,000. The benefits are pretty clear from your pocket’s point of view, right?
And that’s our list of futuristic car gadgets. As you can see, you won’t have to buy a new car to turn your vehicle into your dream sci-fi cruise machine. Are there any we missed that you would recommend? What awesome car tech do you use? Let us know in the comments.
